Read an article about something that is happening in a state in our country.
Your source can be the newspaper, magazine or the web.
Find the state on a map of the United States (included in homework packet) and the states that border it. Color the state your article is about yellow. Color the states bordering it red. Record all of the states in the Social Studies section your notebook.
Summarize the information in a short paragraph. (What about the article using your own words.)
Your writing should be edited correctly and neatly presented

On November 26 we will be celebrating Thanksgiving.

On the right hand side of the page you will see “Homework help”. There are many essays about Thanksgiving. Scroll down to “ A Child’s Role”
Read about Wampanoag children and Pilgrim children. Write about each in the Social Studies part of you homework notebook.
Of course you can read more of the essays about Thanksgiving. You only have to write about the children.

Practice math facts.
Whatever math area (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) you are not a Math Master of you should be practicing.
Play the new game Capture on the 300 chart. This game is the same as Capture 5 but it is played with a 300 chart. Directions and the game board are included in this packet.
Record answers in the math part of your notebook.
Log into: AAA math.
Practice subtraction and any other math on this site
Thursday, Nov. 12
Read for at least 20 min.
Write a FULL PAGE journal entry for this week at school and home. Make sure you have edited for spelling. If you have many misspelled words you will have to redo your journal during recess.
If you are writing about school remember you can use the web we made to help you remember what we did.
Practice math facts and play math games.
Record your answers in the math section of your notebook.
